The Baltimore Slumlord Watch Project was started almost ten years ago as a way to unite Baltimore’s residents around making our city safer, stronger, and cleaner. It’s been wildly successful, and led to the creation of Housing Policy Watch, a research and advocacy project that centers its work around the state of housing in Baltimore City, the laws and policies that allow segregation and redlining to persist, and direct services to tenants and neighbors who need assistance with substandard housing and nuisance vacants properties.
Your tax-deductible contribution to Housing Policy Watch will help communities and residents who are overwhelmed and overburdened by blighted vacant structures, and unsafe housing. Your donation will also help support better housing policy across Maryland, for landlords and tenants, homeowners and developers. Most importantly, you will support outreach and education efforts, and stronger on the ground housing advocacy, that will lead to cleaner and safer communities.
